Why this clinic exists

Dr. Suresh Babu spent years inside large hospital systems, first as a Consultant Dermatologist at Apollo Hospital Chennai, then as Head of Dermatology at Al Zahra Hospital in Dubai. Both were good institutions. Both gave him exposure to complex cases he wouldn’t have seen in a smaller practice.

But in high-volume hospital settings, appointments get squeezed. A patient with a two-year-old skin condition gets fifteen minutes. They leave with a prescription but not much understanding of why their skin is behaving the way it is or what to watch for next. Dr. Suresh found that frustrating enough to do something about it.

Sure Skin Clinic runs differently. Consultations are longer. Explanations are part of the appointment, not an optional extra. If you have questions, you ask them during the visit, not on the way out.

About Us

OUR STORY

Most people come here because somewhere else didn’t explain things properly.

If you’ve visited a clinic, walked out with a prescription, and still weren’t sure what was actually wrong, that’s more common than it should be. Sure Skin Clinic in Adambakkam was set up specifically because of that problem.

About Dr. Suresh Babu Rengasamy

Dr. Suresh has been in medicine for 25 years. For the last 15, it’s been exclusively dermatology. His qualifications go further than most dermatologists practicing in Chennai South.

He holds an MD in Dermatology and General Medicine, the European Board of Dermatovenereology diploma (EBDVD), and the Specialty Certificate Examination (SCE) in Dermatology from the Royal College of Physicians in the UK. He trained in dermoscopy at Cardiff University and did advanced paediatric dermatology training in the UK, two areas that most dermatologists in private practice here don’t have formal training in.

How he actually approaches treatment

He’s cautious about over-treating. That’s not a marketing line, it comes from 15 years of watching what happens when dermatologists reach for aggressive interventions too quickly. Conditions that could have been managed with the right topical or oral treatment end up needing more work because they were approached wrong from the start.

His process is fairly simple: find out what’s causing the problem before deciding how to treat it. Some conditions improve with minimal intervention and time. Some need long-term management. Some need a laser. A few need nothing at all, just a clear explanation that what the patient is worried about is benign.

If something doesn’t need treatment, he’ll tell you that. Directly.

What we treat

Sure Skin handles both medical dermatology and cosmetic or aesthetic work. Most patients come with at least one of each.

What a first visit actually looks like

The consultation starts with a proper history, not just “What’s the problem?” but how long it’s been going on, what you’ve tried before, whether there are patterns to when it gets worse. Then a clinical examination. For moles or unusual lesions, the dermoscope comes out.

After that, Dr. Suresh explains what he’s found. What the condition is. Why it’s happening. What the treatment options are and what each one involves.
You don’t have to decide anything on the spot.

Follow-up visits track progress and adjust as needed. For chronic conditions like psoriasis or hormonal hair loss, the plan tends to evolve over a few appointments rather than being fixed from the start.

The clinic uses USFDA-approved laser equipment. This matters particularly for darker Indian skin tones, where the wrong laser settings or outdated equipment can cause more harm than the original problem.

The environment

The clinic is in Adambakkam, on City Link Road, accessible from most parts of Chennai South. It’s clean, organized, and not designed to make you feel like you’re moving through a system.

Consultations happen in Tamil, English, or Telugu, whichever you’re more comfortable in. Most patients find it easier to describe symptoms in their first language, and that matters for getting the history right.
